Description

A school attendance area is a reference to a boundary defining the properties zoned to attend a specific school. The attendance area will vary by grade to reflect the different types of schools servicing the neighborhood.

Unassigned School Attendance Area (SAA)

When a school district is digitized and school areas are added by ATTOM, there may be situations in which parts of the school district do not have a school attendance area. These are usually non-residential areas such as industrial areas, parks/forests, water bodies, etc. For completeness, these areas are included in an "Unassigned" SAA. 

Occasionally, a small number of residential properties may be included in these areas, meaning they cannot be assigned to a specific school based on the information we have. These can be identified because the schools assigned to the property will have a school id that starts with "G".
