Is Estated API Being Replaced?

Multiple APIs

Over the years, ATTOM has acquired the following companies that each offered a property API

  • OnBoard Informatics (OBI)
  • Home Junction (Slipstream)
  • GeoData Plus
  • Estated

Our long-term plan is to provide a single, consistent, flexible API capable of replacing the existing APIs' functionality and then expand that functionality further to match the needs of a modern property API. The first step in the process took place on June 30, 2023, when we retired the original OBI endpoints now incorporated into the ATTOM API.

The Estated API

The Estated API provides a simple easy-to-use way to access property data via a REST Call. Following the acquisition of Estated, ATTOM continues to make the APi available to existing customers.

While the Estated API continues to be supported, ATTOM is working on incorporating some of the unique features it provides into a new ATTOM API endpoint. Our goal is to keep the existing input parameters and also produce output in the same format so existing customers will not be impacted if/when they migrate and to make the functionality of the Estated API available to new customers. At this time there are no plans to deprecate the Estated API, but acknowledge it is a possibility. We will provide a minimum six-month period for customers to migrate to the new API before any decision is made to deprecate the existing Estated API.

New Features

When the new API becomes available we hope to retain the same, simple easy-to-use interface Estated is known for. We also hope to expand the functionality provided to existing and new customers. This includes:

  • The ability to search and return data for multiple properties in a single call
  • The addition of ATTOM ID to match data with other property data provided by ATTOM
  • Expanding the data available to include many of the other datasets ATTOM provides (e.g. building permits, assignments and releases, HOA data)
  • Estated customers will.be given access to all other ATTOM API endpoints, including our area endpoint that will provide access to area-based data such as climate, crime, demographics, points of interest, and school.
