IP Addresses

Firewall

One of the steps taken by ATTOM to protect access to ATTOM Cloud is a firewall that restricts access to the databases from a whitelist of IP addresses. To connect to ATTOM Cloud, it is necessary that the IP address of the computer being used is defined in our list of whitelisted IP addresses.

Personal IP Address

Each ATTOM Cloud account allows one IP Address to be defined, allowing the user of that account to access ATTOM Cloud from that IP Address. The IP address can be set at any time to reflect your current location, whether that be an office, home, hotel, or the nearby Starbucks.

To set or maintain that IP Address go to Direct Integration and look for the Whitelist IPs section. The rule name allows ATTOM to manage the IP addresses and identify the source of each IP Address added to the firewall. The IP address should be entered as a series of four three-digit numbers separated by periods e.g. 001.001.001.001. This is what is known as an IPv4 address.

It is only possible to have one personal IP address assigned to an ATTOM Cloud account at any time. If you access ATTOM Cloud from multiple locations and do not have these addresses defined as COrporate IP Addresses (see below), then you will need to update the IP address each time you move. Once entered and saved, the new IP address should take effect within minutes.

A newer standard consisting of eight 4-hex-character strings (e.g. 2001:0db8:3c4d:0015:0000:0000:1a2f:1a2b) and known as IPv6 is currently not supported.

Note: Starting May 2020 ATTOM will automatically set the IP Address based on the IP address from which you registered for ATTOM Cloud. We assume that 99% of the time this will be the IP address that will be used,

Corporate IP Addresses

When your company purchases ATTOM Cloud we can assign multiple IP addresses and/or ranges of IP addresses to the company account. As an ATTOM Cloud user, you should be able to access ATTOM Cloud from any one of these IP addresses without having to set it as your Personal IP Address. To set or make changes to the IP Addresses defined for your company contact your friendly CSM. They will be more than happy to help make any necessary changes.

Finding Your IP Address
